The Project

We will build the most modern and attractive fraternity house at WPI. It will be commensurate with the caliber of the Pi Iota Chapter itself and a physical representation of the ideals and principles of Pi Iota.

This project simply cannot wait any longer if Pi Iota is to remain viable and competitive at WPI.

A custom-designed and purpose-built facility will meet the needs of a 21st-century fraternity and the expectations of today’s college students.

It will position the chapter for success, as our new house will be on par with the University’s newest dormitories.

Basement

The lower level of the house will be designed for both casual gatherings of brothers and to be flexibly configured to accommodate larger social events.

More than just a party room, it will be furnished with multiple seating areas to encourage a variety of daily uses.

The open area will be slightly smaller than it is today, which will allow for additional storage closets, a larger laundry room, and restrooms.

The chapter room will remain a unique feature of the house.

Main Floor

Today, the main floor of the house is a collection of smaller rooms that are underutilized and no longer meet the needs and wants of college students.

In the new house, the dining room will flow more openly into the living area, with ample seating throughout. Whether hosting a formal dinner for parents or watching a Sunday afternoon football game, the first floor will be the epicenter of chapter activity.

Restrooms will be available on the main floor and an area will be designated as the house’s accessible suite, which is required by building code.

Upper Floors

The upper floors of the house will include double-occupancy bedrooms, larger bathrooms than the current house, and designated study suites for group projects, chapter committee meetings, and other academic uses.

These study suites are in high demand on campus and are a common feature of new residence halls at WPI. They are strongly desired by our brothers.

The roof deck will not be included in the new design, so we intend to include an outdoor living area in the final design of the site.
